Are you hungry for more? After the first part of Alexs' reflection on his experience with European Solidarity Corps and 1 year volunteering with INEX, here comes the second and final part.
No matter how wild an adventure is, it will always come to an end. Even though I still feel like I arrived on my European solidarity corps project one month ago, my time is soon over.
We could go on and on about how the main reason is the good feeling that comes from doing meaningful and rewarding work. Of course, that is true. But...
INEX celebrated 30 years of its existence in 2021 and I celebrated my fifth anniversary of cooperation with this organization, the moment, which changed and enriched my life forever.
Alexandre decided to spend a year with us at INEX, as an ESC volunteer. How is he enjoying his life in Prague so far? What did he bring from Belgium so he could always feel at home and what was his first czech sentence?
Our volunteer, Sofia, speaks about her attendendance at the Leaders of Change training. She sees the main value of this experience in self-reflection and self-awareness, that she got the chance to gain there. But the list of benefits goes on (and on), see for yourself! :)
Between workcamps, Czech language and vegan Pizza: after twelve months, our ESC volunteer from Germany for 2021, Jule, sums up her voluntary year at INEX and in the Czech Republic.💙
This year our ESC volunteer from Germany, Jule, was leading three workcamps in the Czech Republic. What awaited her, what challenges she faced and what did she learn?
What comes to your mind first when you hear “let’s build a stone wall!”. Well, for me who had no knowledge of it at all, I merely thought stacking stones on top of each other. Little did I know until I attended this workcamp how complicate it is, both physically and mentally.
Our ESC volunteer from Germany, Jule, was leading a Czech workcamp „Create a Place of Reconciliation at Rabstejn“ – which concentrated on a Czech-German history and exchange. Read more about the impact of this experience.
What is it like when people from various corners of the world meet for the sake of volunteering? How can you contribute to the dynamic of such an intercultural group as a leader? And what can you learn about yourself? The INSPIRIT program gave me the possibility to discover that.
It looks like this year is not going to be as we all would love it to be. More than ever, we need to be flexible, brave and most of all responsible. So what are the possibilities this year and what should you prepare for?
I spent 12 months living in Ukraine in a beautiful city called L’viv during EVS. Everybody in my surrounding was surprised I choose Ukraine to live in for one year.
Do you study or work in the Czech Republic? Would you like to get to know this country from a different perspective? Join our international volunteer projects, i.e. workcamps, and get to know local NGOs and communities! The language of communication is English.
German? It sounds a bit harsh. French? I gave it a shot and we're not a match made in heaven. So, what else? Well… Russian sounds nice.
Since I started my EVS in INEX, I started thinking about the possibility to participate in a workcamp, but after they asked me to do it as a campleader, I decided to accept this challenge, although I was sure that wouldn’t easy.
EVS is more than just volunteering. It is a constant learning process, a rollercoaster, if you will, of novelties and challenges.
All was covered in snow and distressed deer were scampering across the frosted hinterland landscape. What a lovely ticket entrance to what was going to be the first day of my new year in Prague!
