Online training for campleaders

This training is a self-paced e-learning course. This means you will be able to follow the different modules at your own pace and according to your own needs.
We hope that you will have a great time with us!

Modules of the training course:

Workcamp Organisation: “Step by Step

In this module you will discover step by step the organizational schedule of an international workcamp and your tasks as a group leader.

Group Dynamics & Leadership

Group life in a workcamp can be exhausting and good group life is not always easy to achieve. In this module we try to give you an idea of how you can work with and within the group to become a strong team and have a great time together.

Challenges & Conflicts

In this module we take a look at possible conflicts that you can encounter as a camp leader in an international group. Here you will get a broad overview of how to deal with various conflicts and challenging situations during a workcamp.

Risk Prevention, First Aid and Crisis Management

The aim of this module is to prepare you to prevent and respond to any accidents or crises that might occur during the workcamp.

Communication

In this session you will learn some basic principles and models of communication. Understanding them and using them to analyze communication is helpful in general, but especially in workcamp situations that are predestined for misunderstandings.

Social Justice

After discussing group dynamics, conflict management and other elements important to leading an international group, in this module we invite you to reflect on an aspect that touches all of these elements: power and our actions for social justice.

Interculturality

An international workcamp creates an extraordinary setting in which strangers from all over the world form a group to achieve a common goal. In this module you will discover the concept of ‘culture’ and tools that can help you make a clash of cultures an enriching and less confusing experience.

Social Inclusion in IVS projects

In this module we will talk about the concept of ‘social inclusion’ and what it means in the context of  International Voluntary Service (IVS) projects, such as international workcamps.
