An invitation for practitioners to ‘step out’ of your practice and reflect on what you are doing in your role as a facilitator. The course will offer an opportunity to review your practice with a view to ‘stepping back in’, equipped with a deeper sense of the complexities of facilitation and context within which you are working.

Who is it for?

People who work with international volunteers who undertake placements in the global South.
People who want to develop their skills as a facilitator who supports critical engagement on active citizenship.

What will you get out of it?

  • A unique space for exchange and reflection on working with international volunteers and the facilitator’s role in supporting them in their journey towards active citizenship.
  • Reflection on our practices and common issues we face, including power and privilege, group dynamic and international volunteering as a learning experience.
  • Opportunity to meet and learn from other EU facilitators that work with international volunteers.
  • An introduction to the “Volunteering for the Future” resources. Research, pan-EU training manual and manual adapted for country-specific contexts.
