Global Education

Development education became one of the main programmes of INEX during the last 5 years. It relates especially with the fact that more and more young people travel to developing countries to participate in volunteer projects, they come back with interesting and valuable experiences, and they feel like sharing it after coming back. Our activities can be divided into 3 sections and programmes:

  • GLEN (Global Education Network of Young Europeans) is a programme of 12 European NGOs, sending 7 selected applicants for 3-months internship in a development country

  • Campaign Football for Development takes place every June in different regions of Czech republic, incl. participation of youth team from Kenya. We involve intensively local highschools as well as wide public – more at www.fotbalprorozvoj.org.

  • Kukátko do světa (Peephole to the World) is a cycle of presentations and discussions, taking place in different region of the Czech Republic, where our volunteers use and pass on their experience from the projects in developing countries

The main aim of global development education is „to raise awareness how global issues and processes affect everyday life of individuals, local communities and societies and how at the same time each of us can influence these processes by return.“ In other words and more simply: development education „should enable people to understand better the relations between their own lives and lives of people across the world.“ (Development Education Association)
